Olympic Park Institute requests Friends volunteers to help with various projects this winter on its beautiful, historic campus at Barnes Point on Lake Crescent.
Our first project is to remove 48 old built-in wooden bunk beds from their student dorms. We'll remove the lag screws that secure them to the wall, disassemble their 2x6" frames and slats, sort the lumber to select any that's reusable, and haul the rest away. We'll have a pickup and dump trailer on site. This project is scheduled for Monday, November 15 and might take 1 to 3 days, depending on how many volunteers share the work.
We'll be working with Al Watkins, Facilities Supervisor at OPI. Each year, OPI provides environmental education and outdoor experiences in our Park to over 6000 students, teachers and families.
Please let me know by e-mail if you can join us. Pass this on to anyone else who might help out. Thanks!
