Well let me tell you, the Forest Service Rd. (FS 30 Bear Creek Road) approach from the north face is closed. The road leading from Snyder off the Sol Duc may still be closed because of snow. Sadly, only Big D (Dallas) and I have approached the lookout the hard way. Yes, the trail that climbs over 2400 feet in 3.2 miles from the Snyder Ranger Station.

Dallas and I did it via "stretch limo" {o.k. transit bus} on two different occasions. I was asked what the itinerary would be taking the limo which follows:
Depart Sequim Transit Center @ 8:43 a.m.
Depart Port Angeles @ 9:30 a.m.
Arrive Snyder Road @ 10:20 a.m.

Depart Snyder Road @ 3:25 p.m.
Depart Port Angeles @ 4:40 p.m.
Arrive Sequim @ 5:15 p.m.

Note: If for some reason we miss the 3:25 Snyder departure we will pick up the 4:25 and add an hour to the above return times.

Via limo we need to add another 3 miles to our total. Yes, we will walk a road to the Snyder Ranger Station and beyond to the trailhead 1-1/2 miles each way......

Remember a day pass for everyone on the limo is $2.00. I will gladly loan any person the money, but remember fiancé charges will apply. Gee, think how much we can reduce our carbon foot print by taking the limo.

Don't shoot the messenger, if we opt not to take the limo we can still drive our vehicles.

This is open to any week we choose. Preferably a clear day so we can enjoy the magnificent views this hike gives us.
